Shaheen Development Reveals Uptown Bay City Riverfront Restaurant

Bay City, Mich. – The Real Seafood Co. has been announced as Uptown Bay City’s newest tenant, joining Dow Corning Corp., McLaren Bay Region, Chemical Bank, and a Courtyard by Marriott hotel in the downtown development. The unique restaurant will prepare its food from scratch kitchens, and the head chef will serve customized dishes that focus on seasonal and local produce.

Owned and operated by Ann Arbor-based Mainstreet Ventures, the Real Seafood Co. is a contemporary restaurant that offers fresh fish and seafood from the waters of New England, the Great Lakes, and the Gulf of Mexico. Mainstreet Ventures also owns the Real Seafood Co. restaurants located in Toledo, Ohio, Naples, Fla., and Ann Arbor.

“We’re very excited about opening a Real Seafood Co. in Bay City,” says Mike Gibbons, CEO of Mainstreet Ventures. “With the proximity to downtown hotels, boat docks, and residential developments, we believe this is a perfect location for our restaurant.”

Perfect for lunch or dinner, the waterfront restaurant will have two levels of seating, including 200 seats inside, 100 seats out, and an upstairs and outdoor bar. Its décor will offer a warm, modern feel, with design elements that include a wall of oysters and a visible kitchen.

The Real Seafood Co. will be located overlooking the river, adjacent to the boat day docks and Dow Corning. The restaurant is expected to employ about 100 people, and will add 20 seasonal employees in the summer.
