Bay City, Mich. – Uptown Bay City won an Engineering Merit Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Michigan, through the work conducted by ROWE Professional Services Company.
The project will be presented with the award at the Engineering & Surveying Excellence Awards Gala in February. According to ACEC/Michigan’s website, “The statewide competition recognizes engineering achievements that demonstrate a high degree of client satisfaction through innovative, cost-effective solutions.”
Uptown Bay City is a mixed-use, 35-acre riverfront development, with corporate offices, retail stores, residential condominiums and restaurants. Businesses joining Uptown include Dow Corning, McLaren Bay Region, Chemical Bank, a Courtyard by Marriott hotel and the Real Seafood Co. restaurant. The development company, Shaheen Development, is a family-owned real estate development firm that focuses on growth and redevelopment within the Great Lakes Bay Region.
“The first part of our mission statement is to deliver top-notch results,” said Samuel Shaheen, president and CEO. “This award by ACEC/Michigan is proof that we are on our way to delivering a riverfront community that the people of the Great Lakes Bay Region can be proud of for generations. The state-of-the art facilities at Uptown Bay City will result in economic growth and development for the region.”
“We are extremely honored to accept this award,” added Jack Wheatley, ROWE’s senior project manager for Uptown Bay City. “What makes our profession so satisfying is that we are able to continue to visit our work for years to come. Anytime we visit Uptown Bay City, we are reminded how proud we are of our role at the site.”
